Daily Journals

This page features the daily journals I have kept throughout this project. Each one, here, is the typed version of what I originally wrote that day. I have also included some keywords at the bottom of each entry, so you can easily see what they mention as well as what I often talked about in my journals. You can see these keywords by clicking on the journal entry.

It's the short moments that are the hardest... waiting for a zoom call, pausing homework, etc. Those are the times when I want to just click an app and scroll, but it's also not enough time to replace it. I do want to try and find something to do in those moments though.

As corny as it sounds (you'll get the joke in a second), instead of watching TV I decided to make cornbread muffins while listening to the Encanto soundtrack and dancing. I'm having a lot of fun!

Tonight, we went to the basketball game. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed getting out of the house. I really want to try Zumba (of some sorts) this weekend. I have plans with my mom and a friend, and I have lots of time for homework. I'm hoping this weekend can truly kick off this project beyond deleting apps.

Today was a long day. Riley went to Casper for the weekend and those weekends are always hard. Typically, I would binge movies and distract myself with homework all weekend, and I do need to get homework done, but I really don't want to feel disappointed by Monday. I'm going to do my best to maybe start a new book, try an active activity, and feel happy Saturday and Sunday. I did see my mom today. We got dinner and watched a movie which was a lot of fun. I'm starting to feel behind on this project though.

Today was very long, and my priority was homework. I feel disappointed that I didn't do much else today, but I have goals for tomorrow. Plus, getting set up with homework today and cleaning the house a bit will help me have time to do more tomorrow. I do want to start a new book and try at-home Zumba. I also think I'm going to have to delete more than just social media off my phone. I'm finding myself replacing TikTok with Youtube and online shopping apps. On the other hand, I do need to find something small to do in those moments of "I just need to be busy right now"... maybe reading? But I do need something for homework breaks and an English major can only take so much reading.
